"Where champions leave an inspirational story about their past"

Fists of Legends is one of the country’s fastest rising boxing promotional companies. Founded in 2017 by Jesus ‘Kiko’ Cancel and Chris Martin Sanchez, two New York natives with years of experience in all aspects of the boxing industry, the company is taking a unique approach to promoting fighters in the sport’s ever changing landscape.

With professional boxing now monopolized by 3 or 4 major promoters, who only have interest in signing fighters with extensive and decorated amateur careers, Cancel and Sanchez saw an opportunity to work with fighters who might not necessarily have Olympic or international pedigree but still have potential to be successful professionals.

“We kept running into fighters who were solid amateurs but none of the big promoters were interested in taking a look at them.”, explains, Cancel, Director of Talent Development & Scouting.

“A lot of amateur fighters have styles that are more suited for the professional ranks. We felt that a hard working and talented fighter who didn’t win a gold medal or have 200 amateur fights still deserves the attention, guidance and opportunities that only come with promotional backing. We knew we could provide a home for young fighters and prospects in the early stages of their professional career.”

As Chris Martin, Director of Operations adds,

“We want our fighters to go as far as their talent and hard work can take them and often that means working with other promoters. We actively put our fighters on other promoters cards to keep them busy and build relationships. We never hold them back from opportunities. We welcome co-promotional deals if it’s the right move for the fighter’s career.”

In addition to working with other promoters, Cancel and Sanchez pride themselves on their accessibility and personal relationships with their fighters.

“A lot of promoters look at fighters as products not people. We want to like our fighters outside of the ring as much as we like them inside it. You hear the horror stories that a fighter can’t even get his own promoter on the phone. Fists of Legends is the opposite. We pride ourselves on being the most accessible promoters in all of boxing.”, explains, Cancel.

It’s that type of attitude that has seen several young fighters and prospects recently sign with Fists of Legends and the company plans to expand the roster significantly in 2019, as well as promoting their own shows in the New York City area.

As Chris Martin sums it up,

“It’s an exciting time to be in boxing and 2019 will be a breakout year for Fists of Legends and our fighters.”
